Resist the Influence
Providing today's youth with the tools to face tomorrow's pressures
Resist the Influence (RTI) is a research-based youth prevention program that aims to delay the first use and/or prevent the misuse of substances such as alcohol, marijuana, and vaping devices. The RTI program focuses on the social influences that students commonly encounter as they transition into high school. RTI provides youth and young adults with the ability to assess their own risk levels and make lifestyle choices that reflect their values and who they are.
Our trained RTI instructors believe that youth and young adults are a keystone to the success of our community's future. At the core of each student is a set of values that can help guide them through the challenges they might be facing. RTI is meant to help students align with their values and challenge their beliefs through research-based prevention education. In designing this program, our instructors came together to create a curriculum that provides middle-high school students with resistance tools for alcohol and drugs. These tools help youth reflect their values by increasing resiliency and confidence
