UTURN
UTURN is a four hour suspension/ ticket alternative program to a nicotine offense. This program challenges beliefs of use and encourages change talk to start the journey of quitting nicotine. The model of the program allows time for personal reflection and group discussion following each topic.
Using Stanford University's Our Healthy Futures curriculum, UTURN’s goal is to reduce the risk for health problems that come along with using vapes and other nicotine devices.
Students will receive a workbook, certificate of completion and "Quit Kit" including items that have shown to help people find motivation to quit and curb cravings.
For any UTURN participant under the age of 18, at least one parent/guardian is required to attend an online self paced session. Parents will learn signs and symptoms of substance use, items used to conceal substance use and how to set boundaries and consequences with their children. Parents will also be provided with resources should they need additional help. *Parent does not attend the actual class with their child
Participants for this class should be under the age of 21 who have received a possession of nicotine ticket, in violation of an athletic code, are facing expulsion, or are interested in quitting.
Topics Covered:
Damages of e-cigarettes to the brain and body at a young age.
Nicotine products (vapes, cigarettes, nicotine pouches) and the harmful effects of each.
Pressures and influences that may lead someone to use nicotine.
How nicotine addiction can lead to other addictions later in life
Students will create an in-depth quit plan. Including how to cope with stress, changing their environment to support themselves, and many other thoughtful activities.

Saturday, September 28th
1 Day 8:30am - 12:30pm - IN PERSON
This will be an IN PERSON class held at our office in Pewaukee. Parent portion will be self-paced online. (Parent does not attend physical class with student). Class information will be sent out upon registration.
Saturday, October 19th
1 Day 8:00am - 12:00pm - VIRUTAL
This will be a LIVE VIRTUAL class held over zoom. Parent portion will be self-paced online. (Parent does not attend virtual class with student). Class information, zoom link, and parent portion will be sent out upon registration. Student workbook, syllabus and ‘Quit Kit’ will be mailed a week or two before class.
Monday, November 11th - Tuesday, November 12th (Registration will open after September class)
1 Day 4:30pm - 6:30pm - IN PERSON
This will be an IN PERSON class held at our office in Pewaukee. Both days are required. Parent portion will be self-paced online. (Parent does not attend physical class with student). Class information will be sent out upon registration.
